The presumption of innocence, the rights of discovery, fair due process, to be represented by competent counsel, and equal protection under the law are fundamental rights of a proper justice system. These rights must be upheld for the system to work as intended; that goes for both the innocent and the guilty.
Those persecuted and arrested on January 6th related offenses had these rights violated.
The presumption of innocence and equal justice under the law were tossed out the window at the get go. Those who did no violence and just walked into the building after the police opened the doors were treated as violent criminals. Even reporters who were there covering the event were prosecuted. Prosecutors conspired with corrupt DC judges to use novel legal theories to elevate simple trespass charges to felony convictions. Legal theories the Supreme Court eventually tossed out.
Did you see such novel theories used against violent ANTIFA and BLM rioters who killed dozens of people? Nope.
January 6th defendants not only had their evidence kept out of the trials by these corrupt judges, there was 41,000 hours worth of video the Department of Justice had, all but a few minutes of which was kept from defendants.
The most notorious defendant was Jacob Chansley, also known as the Q-Anon Shaman, who was portrayed in court and in the corporate media as a violent January 6th insurrectionist who attacked police officers. Over three years after his conviction the video was released that shows that not only was Chansley non-violent, the Capitol Police escorted him around as if he was a VIP. Chansley even lead group prayers to bless the Capitol Police - ALL ON VIDEO - that the jury in his trial was not allowed to see.
Almost every J6 defendant accused of being violent was denied the video evidence that proved their innocence and every one of these fired attorney’s knew it.
If being fired is all they get they should consider themselves lucky. In our view they should be subject to Section 1983 of the civil rights code and perhaps even RICO charges.
This is why President Trump pardoned and/or commuted every of of these convictions as even those who genuinely did do something wrong had their rights violated.
Of course corporate media is having a cow. Let them. Independent Journalist Julie Kelly has a great Substack on this subject HERE.
One of those falsely prosecuted, Brandon Straka, has gone public exposing the prosecutors who broke the law to illegally persecute and convict him:
Great article, Chuck!!
