Dr. Victor Davis Hanson: Democrats Run California Like the Old Confederacy

Dr. Victor Davis Hanson (aka VDH) is likely the greatest living historian. In the video below he outlines how the Democratic Party has embraced the principles of the old slave owning Confederacy…and he does it pretty darn well.

California has a rapidly shrinking middle class; it has Big Tech/Hollywood/big business/government class, and then everyone else; whereas the South had big cotton, the plantation owners, and everyone else.

The Democrats run the state, which is the highest taxed and highest spending and deficits, not for the good of the people but for the good of their own power. Their selective application of principles exposes their hypocrisy.

They engage in racial essentialism; always focused on someone’s racial pedigree, embracing division over unity.

They present themselves as morally superior and then want to pick and choose what laws to follow and what laws to ignore, ever changing to their immediate needs; which echoes Confederate nullification.
