Now it is official. The CIA has admitted that the Trump/Russia collusion story making President Trump out to be a Russian asset abandoned most all intelligence community tradecraft standards.

Quoting form the report, please read carefully:
And it just keeps going from there. The report puts much of the blame on Obama CIA Director John Brennen and his senior leadership who pushed the Trump collusion narrative in spite of the poor nature of the accusations.
NY Post:
A bombshell new CIA review of the Obama administration’s spy agencies’ assessment that Russia interfered in the 2016 presidential election to help Donald Trump was deliberately corrupted by then-CIA Director John Brennan, FBI Director James Comey and Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who were “excessively involved” in its drafting, and rushed its completion in a “chaotic,” “atypical” and “markedly unconventional” process that raised questions of a “potential political motive.”
Further, Brennan’s decision to include the discredited Steele dossier, over the objections of the CIA’s most senior Russia experts, “undermined the credibility” of the assessment.
NBC News is playing every deceptive trick to mitigate the damage of this report. It is an impressive piece of propaganda. The narrative focus at NBC News was:
“the review did not refute the findings of the 2017 intelligence assessment that Russia waged an information warfare campaign designed to undermine Americans’ confidence in the electoral process, damage Hillary Clinton and boost Donald Trump’s prospects in the 2016 election.”
Now this is a shocker. We engage in information warfare against other countries and they do it to us, but this is not the story and evades the 800 pound gorilla in the room; namely that the accusation that President Trump was a Russian asset was essentially a politically motivated scam, pushed by the leadership, using evidence that did not pass basic intelligence community standards. Gotta love corporate press.
UPDATE - Benny Johnson posted a nice video about this with more details of the big picture.
