CDC Funds Junk Science Through Private Universities to Skirt Records and FOIA Laws

Junk science is pervasive in academia, much more than what has been revealed in recent years in subjects such as climate alarmism and COVID.

As multiple university professors at have explained to yours truly, most professors are not paid enough relative to the investment in loans, tuition, books, and years of lost work and sleep to attain a PhD. to make it a good deal.

Aside from teaching, depending on the university, there are research and/or publishing quotas professors are expected to meet. Said research and publications are wise not to buck political orthodoxy. Teaching, research, and publishing amounts to a high workload.

When the EPA funds a climate study, the outcome had better serve the political orthodoxy or future grants are put at risk. Individual professors are not only punished for bucking orthodoxy by big money, but often the entire university is. The pressure to conform is high.

Often times BigPharma will have a ready-made junk study and farm it out to professors to sign onto as if they were a part of the research. Professors are paid a tidy sum for such arrangements. It is not uncommon. To a degree, academic research and publications are a product like any other. Academic fraud is big business, as are a related form of academic fraud - paper mills. Yours truly has been asked to do this kind of work.

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) can launder your money through a private institution like Columbia University to publish questionable research and then keep study materials hidden because Columbia isn't subject to the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

One might think that an obligation to scientific transparency would encourage private universities like Columbia to release their data and records. Think again.
