Best Take from Supreme Court Immunity Hearing Almost No One Noticed
We all heard the oral arguments in front of the Supreme Court regarding the Trump immunity case.
The case Biden’s Department of Justice is making is the polar opposite of most every federal government immunity case in the past indicating just how politically motivated this is.
For example, Lon Horiuchi was the FBI sniper who shot an unarmed woman, who was holding a baby, in the face and killed her. Court records show that he knew she was unarmed. The State of Idaho tried to prosecute Horiuchi, but the federal government and the federal courts took the position that Horiuchi had absolute immunity because he killed his victim in the line of duty under color of law. The federal government lost a civil suit in part as a result.
In short, Trump fighting a rigged election is somehow a crime, but an FBI sniper illegally killing un unarmed woman has total immunity.
In the oral arguments, the government’s lawyer Michael Dreeben, made the case the presidential acts, even official acts, are prosecutable, and repeatedly spun the narrative that government prosecutors, judges and the Department of Justice are beyond reproach, ethical and can essentially do no wrong.
When Justice Gorsuch brought up Obama’s drone strikes killing American civilians, or Biden ignoring our border laws, Dreeben said those are not prosecutable.
Dreeben, said in response to questioning by Chief Justice Roberts, insisted that politically based prosecutions just do not happen. But of course, Michael Dreeben was a part of the Robert Mueller phony Russia/Trump hoax investigation.
You cannot make this stuff up.
